Long Road Alone
Long stretches of black-top,
entwined with cracks, ruts, potholes,
all running into desert dirt,
designed to slow the journey to nowhere.
When a plan fails,
with ideas lost,
confusion rules,
logic becomes foolish.
Having no purpose in life,
you become a shell, empty.
Blazing heat crossed over to wind-swept rains;
call it nature at her best.
Everything created to make an unknown journey
to lonely destinations, even lonelier.
Know your path,
focus strongly.
Temper your anguish,
your pain, your inner-strength.
Keep courage in your heart,
or all is lost.
