The Isle of the Immortals

Genre: Fantasy

Age range: 18-48

Word count: 108000 (The book can be divided in three autonomous chapters)

Author name: Diego Roudet

Why your project is a good fit: it follows the same tropes that made other fantasy novels a success, and it can easily become a trilogy or a solid nice one hour and a half movie.

The hook: it is actually the strory about an empowered black woman trying to survive in a world ruled by men. People would love that. Also, its a retelling of the first being on the planet. The book has its own mythology, deities and rules.

Synopsis: In the year 1792, a british ship called "Royal Langmore" is attacked by pirates near the Madagascar islands. The first officer Timothy Johnson gets stranded in a mysterious island habitated by mystical beings that cannot be killed unless they get tired of existing. They are almost immortal. If they get consumed by fire, they wont resucitate. Timothy is rescued by Elewa, a powerful strong female character. She is the star of the story, actually. Timothy is healed. However the people in the island are worried because he is the first foreigner to enter the island. They get afraid. The island was supposed to be protected by a giant sea serpent. How Timothy was capable of disturbing their peace with his arrival? Where is the serpent? Who is this strange pale man?

Bio: I was born in 1997 in a rural town in Colombia. I am 24 years old. I have written other fiction books. I spent four years writing "The Isle of the Immortals" and i think its my best work to this day.

Platform: i do not have one.

Education: I graduated from high school in 2012. I havent got my college degree due to my poor financial status.

Experience: I don¨t have any experience working for book companies. I haven¨t won any prize for anything.

Personality/writing style: I like to get straight to the point. I describe human emotions and actions pretty well, however i am not that good describing landscapes. Every single character that i wrote in this book has a clear purpose and they do anything in their power to get it done. Personality wise i am a very easy-going fella.

Hobbies: I love the sea. I love history. Football is my favourite sport. Jules Verne is one of my favourite authors, and Wiliam Goulding is also fantastic. My favorite book is called "La Vorágine" is a colombian book by José Eustacio Rivera. Really nice.
