My children didn’t ask to be born

I chose to have them

They owe me nothing

I gave them life

I owe them everything

Because I forced an existence upon them that they never requested

Life comes with so many traumas

It seems ludicrous to claim I’ve done them a favor by bringing them here

No, I was selfish

I wanted their company and now they’re stuck here with me
