Stop! For my people,

They can’t take everything

All at once without burden.

You learned through hatred.

You learned so much history

But not the one of my people.

You see, we have courageous

Women and headstrong leaders.

We don’t have Joan of Arc

But we have our own version

Of someone who led an army

Despite what people told her.

She’s a powerful woman

And a woman of her own.

She’s Gabriela Silang.

She is more of a woman

That a white man can handle.

She is courageous. Yet,

People betrayed her trust.

She is a woman, nonetheless.
