In Moonlit Nights

Midnight the creature lurks

Eternal eyes that stare into your soul

Out of the shadows

Without a sound, jumping from darkness to darkness

I can hear its breathing

Away into the darkness

Moving through the silent night

Awake in the moonlit abyss

Creeping. Coming closer with each breath

Another moment and it appears

Tonight, again it stares into my soul

Moonlit night so dark and drear

Everlasting silence of the night

Over and over I fall in its gaze

When it comes, I am too helpless to overcome it
