You turned to leave

But I realized that right there

was where we need to be

right then.

So I

pinched the fabric at the waist of your shirt

and tugged 

you back inside. 

You whipped around and pressed your mouth to mine. 

My hands were

cupping your face,

the pads of my fingers brushed over 

the freckles on your jaw. 

Your hands were

warm 

at the base of my rib cage.
