Spider
The man had always been fascinated by spiders. He loved the way they moved, their eight legs clicking on the floor as they scurried around. And he loved even more the way they killed their prey. There was something about watching them wrap their long, spindly legs around a helpless victim's body, suffocating them until they were nothing but a lifeless husk, that made his blood run cold with excitement.
So when he discovered a giant spider living in the basement of his house, he knew he had to keep it. The spider was huge, its body as big as a dinner plate. And it was ravenous, always hungering for fresh meat. The man quickly realized that the best way to keep the spider well-fed was to feed it people.
At first, he would bring home homeless people off the streets, offering them a warm meal and a place to sleep for the night. But then he started to grow bolder, bringing prostitutes back to his basement to be fed to the spider. The more victims the spider devoured, the more it grew, until it was as big as a bed. The man had never been happier. He had finally found what he thought was the perfect pet.
One night, after the spider had devoured yet another hapless victim, the man went downstairs to check on it. But as he approached the spider's den, he heard a strange noise coming from inside. It sounded like a digging noise.
He slowly opened the door to the den, and what he saw inside made his blood run cold. The spider had bored a hole under the house. He ran outside to find the end of the tunnel. The spider had escaped!
The man knew then that he had created a monster. A monster that was now beyond his control. And he knew that it was only a matter of time before the spider came for him too.
