i’ll be the only heartbreaker

i find myself

reading old poems

for a distraction

because

i can't tell them

that i want to disappear

that i still can't believe

after seven days in the hospital

and longer than that

in my bible

i wish i had never said a word

never been born to say a word

because all i know how to do

is let people down
