A Writers Debate

If I wrote a story

And you didn’t like it

Would that mean only one thing

That I am not a good writer

I have no talent

Or would it mean

Perhaps

You didn’t understand

What you read

That I am ahead

Of your thinking

Could you lack

Brains to comprehend

Perhaps

It’s me

That doesn’t understand

How to entertain

A crowd so bland

Is it wrong to be right

Or right to be wrong

Perhaps

I need to put my words away

Crumple the paper

Move on

And simply walk away

To write perhaps another day
