Dear Lord,
Now I lay here, I cannot sleep,
I pray the Lord our country keep,
Our world is fallen in the trap,
of thinking life is white and black,
Oh Lord, you made the colors bright,
the sun by day, the stars by night.
Your earth destroys itself through fear,
and tries to fight and pays so dear.
It terrorizes for a thrill,
and bleeds and dies, yet craves the kill.
Now I lay here, I cannot sleep,
the problems of this world are deep.
Some people hate for no sure reason,
others can't handle each new season.
Some would end life rather than live,
others collect treasures but never give.
Our land cares more about me, me, me,
then the pain in communities from sea to sea.
Lord, you made woman and you made man,
each different, unique, and each you understand!
The trap's been set, it's very bad,
each person here, deep down is sad...
Oh Lord, save us now, for we've nowhere to go!
Oh Lord, hear my prayer, from down here below.
Now I lay me down, I cannot sleep,
I pray the Lord, somehow, our poor country keep.
