Has to act like a mother?

When a mother begins to drink,

And the daughter has to take control,

Yelling at her own mother

To stop,

To sleep.

When a daughter is afraid

Of her own parents?

Of being yelled at,

Of being abused

By her own parents.

It may not seem bad,

When a daughter's childhood

Is taken away by an addiction,

A drink?

When a daughter loses

Her hope,

Her happiness,

Her childhood.
