Why do Christians feel it’s important to focus on all the apostles teachings like the letters to the different churches or to different people in the New Testament instead of focusing on the points Jesus Christ was trying to make?

you have all these individual interpretations from each apostle, but what about the actual message and meaning Christ was struggling so hard to convey to such closed minded people? Christ was on a mission in a very short amount of time and he knew it, he had a specific message to get to people before his death and he had to try and prove it but he was facing great odds with these people.
