Guilt, the coward
Persistent crawl roiling under my mind's nail bed, urging a jaw-clenching satisfactory scratch, tearing beneath the steady front of disinterest to reveal the aching sorrow, my shameful truth. If I were braver with myself, I'd expose this forgivable fault. Were I worthy of you, you might liberate me. If only.
