Challenge
A Poetic Rewriting
Hello prosers! This is going to be the first in a potentially weekly series of challenges! All you have to do is rewrite a novel into a poem! Any novel will do, but the more well-known it is the easier it will be to judge. Please use the name of the novel as the name of your poem. There are no requirements for rhyme or format, but I will be taking into account any particularly impressive implementations of craft. And remember, longer doesn't always mean better. Have fun!
The Lovely Bones
Hers is a helpless cry,
Tears only she sheds,
From confidant to spy,
Her piece of heaven she transcends.
Taken by evil,
Her kin grows feeble,
All a taint in perfection,
But the killer draws no attention.
A devil basking in pride,
An angel wishing to guide,
Her saviors to redemption,
And she to retribution.
Hers is a journey cut short,
One that only yet begins,
Guilty end for one who sins,
A trial that ends not in court,
But in a heaven she molds.
