On Guilt
Around your mind
it wraps,
like a string tied to your finger,
never forgotten,
holding your conscience prisoner
as it slowly squeezes tighter.
Physical manifestation comes
as you try to swallow
your thoughts,
but they only burn
a
long
trail
to your core,
where they burrow well
and bury deep.
