To Live or To Die
I cannot cherish his face if I leave,
But to live is to swallow all pain and sorrow,
To live is to commit sinful acts tomorrow,
Tomorrow, I might deceive, kill, or thieve!
I must suffer if my skin is still warm,
But if I die, I cannot paint the skies,
I cannot scream and cry on my lover’s arm,
Or bring him solace when he cries or sighs.
I do not dare to divorce Life
So I can marry and kiss Death,
So here I am, clinging to both,
Like a corpse that can barely cast a breath.
