Rotting Flowers

Flowers are pretty and fragile

With pedals that can be easily ripped

Don't break them, they can't run

They may end up snipped

Roses turn brown

Violets do too

Are they still pretty

When they lose their hue

Mom said I was a flower

I think that was right

Because now I decay

But I won't put up a fight
