I saw God
The lady in shreds,
Begging for some bread,
A school boy stops,
And empties his tuck box,
Oh I was glad,
To see the fine lad,
In my heart I gave an applaud,
Cause that is how I saw God!
I walked the path, to the graveyard gate,
A little girl stood, for her granny she prayed,
She put her bouquet on the marble stone
Then plucked a lilly and walked on,
She paused at a old and unattended mound,
Offered her lilly, left me astound.
My heart felt cool in the noon so hot,
Cause that is how I saw God!
I sat by the road, to paint the crossing crowd,
I saw a man walking, all vain and proud
And then in his hands I saw another,
Helping an old lady walk, when no one bothered,
I was touched at the gesture, I may not say it a lot,
But that is how I saw God!
Every day for a moment or two,
I live my life believing in the me & you,
And that is when I am surprised,
By the divine presence in our daily lives,
We may not often give it a thought,
But once everyday, we do see God!
