Stringing Them Along

A coffee, a talk, and a promise for another time.

A smile, laugh, and kiss, led to a long night.

Blinded by affections from the charms of a silver tongue, made me unaware of the baggage he had carried inside.

As he turned to leave, sunlight streaming in.

It was clear as day.

That I now had become a string tied to his belongings that he now carried away.
