God’s Puppet
A man fed up with his life once climb a mountain top where he heard the god’s reside. The man climbed nonstop for 3 days and 3 nights before finally reaching the mountain top. Once there we saw a desk and a figure sitting in a chair. Welcome, human I heard you have some complaints to file with us. The man not enjoying the god’s joke. Lashed out cursing at the god. The god with a snap of his fingers took the man’s voice away. His mouth was still moving but no sound coming out. Once the man noticed he stopped talking and stared at the god.
We know why you are upset, usually we don’t show ourself, but because you made such a trecherous climb I decided to humor you. You have not gained the animonisty of the god’s don’t worry about that. To put it in human terms, you were born under the wrong star. Sometimes god’s take a interest in people. Some make the people they are intersted in heros, some politicians, other’s make the people they are intersted in suffer. You were just chosen by the latter, there was no particular reason I’m sure. Maybe they were just in a bad mood that day, or was bored and just found you interesting. Either way I’m sure you’ve been a good form of entertainment for us. Thank you for that.
The God snapped his fingers again giving the man his voice back, to which he said entertainment in disbelief. My life, my misery has been just to give you entertainment. Yes, and I’m sure your doing a good job at it. You seem to be a resiliant fellow, you climb to the top of this mountain shows that. Why, the man said, why do you guys do this to us. The god said, boredom. You can never imagine the boredom of a god. No matter how much you try. Just know I’m not telling you this out of empathy. I feel nothing for you personally, why would I, you are just one in a million. Just as you wouldn’t feel nothing for ants gathering in anger because you mistakenly stepped on of their friends. We god’s live for eternaity and have nothing to strive for. IN a way we feel jealous of you humans, your life is filled with such passions. Whether it be pleasure or pain, there is something to look forward to. We God’s have nothing like that.
So we have to find something, maybe its food, maybe it’s a good adventure, at times war, and other times misfery. So don’t take it personally, just live your life, after all that’s all you can do. Not if I kill myself, exclaimed he man. Sure you can do that, but then another will be found. So if you think doing so will be a way to get back at the god’s. I can tell you with certainty that we will feel nothing from your death. Someone must stop you guys, you can’t get away with this. Why? The god asked the question as though he truly didn’t understand.
We give you humans everything, the good and the bad. If one man’s misery can save thousands from feeling that same misery, most would think it a good thing. If there was nothing but good in the world you humans would become mundane and would make for a boring show. You guys need something just as much as we do. You’ve lived such an exciting life, a sad one I’m sure, but exciting nontheless. As I said a regular man couldn’t make up this mountain, so you are anything but regular. I admire that will power. Maybe I’ll ask the God observing you to make you into a hero instead, you have the drive for it.
A hero, I won’t play your stupid games. Really you have a wife correct, if some misfortune were to happen you could save her if you become a hero. Even if you know the misfortune is due to a god’s boredom, would you really choose not to save her. The god’s goal was ot break your spirit and I see no better way to do that now than to force you to do our bidding. Become our hero and entertain us or let everyone in your city die, the choice is yours. Either way it should make for an entertaining show.
The god then disappeared living a sword behind and the man heard a crash in the distant, the god’s sent a disaster to the nearby city and the man had a choice. He knows that everyone are already puppets to the gods nowm but to Pick up the sword means to become a willing puppet or leave it and let misery befall those who were close to him.
