Simply Stated
“The great enemy of clear language is insincerity. When there is a gap between one’s real and one’s declared aims, one turns instinctively to long words and exhausted idioms.” ~George Orwell

Where I Was Last Night
I want to be good. I do.
But good is a chore. It's all such a chore.
The look she gave, lust.
Her moves, grace.
Her words, sin.
She takes what she wants. I yearned for touch.
I let her claim land she did not own. Our bed at home is cold. Her sheets were warm.
Sweat sticks. Slick strokes in the night. A rush, a gasp.
I mourned the loss of trust.
I gave it all to her, sweet soul of plain speak.
