Rain
The sight of rainfall,
Melancholy by nature.
Dim to naked eyes.
The pitter patter,
Of rain atop the rooftop,
Sounds like Summer time.
No taste to speak of.
The rain on my outstretched tongue.
Flavorless cloud tops.
Gliding so smoothly.
Air damp with heavy droplets.
Now cling to my skin.
The deed has been done.
With the smell of Petrichor,
The rain subsides now.
The water glistens.
Washing the impurities.
No one comes before.
Soaking like a sponge.
The basin collects water.
Though never enough.
Providing cover,
For lovers entanglement.
Secret in the rain.
I saw once with awe,
I now view with jealousy.
Envy runs like rain.
A morning shower,
Though it can never be full,
The vine always thirsts.
The typhoon's fury.
A raging, unyielding storm.
A blinding power.
The rain slows down time.
Droplets to puddles to streams.
Carry me farther.
That storm means nothing.
False images of droplets.
This cannot be real.
Why should the rain fall?
Pouring pestilence on high.
My shoes are now wet.
Please end this downpour.
I can't handle this deluge.
I'll do anything.
A constant droning.
The rain keeps my mind blurry.
How can I move on?
Inevitable.
Only a passing shower.
The sun shines again.
