Challenge
Finish the tale.
We meet, as was agreed upon, on the precipice of knowledge, itself a wild ocean that stretches far beyond the horizon, sloshing and foaming beneath the salt-battered cliff, where we parlay.
Our handshake is brief. Our nod even briefer. I furrow my brow as I look at you peering into the dark waters.
'What have you learned?' I ask.
I hear your feet shift over the pebbles and sand. You grunt and pull your coat tighter around your shoulders. 'It is cold here,' you say, 'at the edge of everything.'
'Yes,' I reply.
I wait for more, but none comes. 'Penny for your thoughts.'
You take a deep breath, hold it for three seconds, then release it.
'It's like this...'
Of Being
"...what you see,
this frothing
and foaming,
tempest tossed
turbulence
reflects us-
Man-unwell.
We'll remain
thus, unless
we decide
to end it.
The hatred,
apathy,
the disdain.
Until we
choose to change,
all is lost..."
