Silence

During the day, people pass by one person. People put their senses out of her earshot. They whispered, “She is a stranger and a danger to us.”

The woman heard nothing but silence. She seemed not to notice their talking mouths and their thoughts. She did not break in but let them roll as the sky turned dark and zapped the talkative. The woman walked away.

The other group Loud made so much racket around her. They were nonstopping until they made an explosion. Their faces burned. Their hair went straight up. The woman walked silently.

The last group Instrumental created sounds to hurt the woman’s ears. She stopped and picked up her high heel to throw it at the drummer, who noticed it and continued playing until the drums broke. The woman walked away quietly.
