Si le monde a parlé dans la rime
If the world spoke in rhyme,
I think we might start giving each other more time,
To listen carefully to what the other says,
I wonder if it would lead to happier days?
“I hate you” could no longer be said in three syllables,
Instead, it would be disgust, repulsion, loathing,
When I look at you I wish you were choking,
But could we say that or would we feel despicable?
What about those who can’t think of the spot?
For a word that can rhyme and still make sense,
Would we allow the time or would we just say they were dense?
But it could be that to rhyme is something they just need to be taught.
And at the same time if people have to think,
About what they say before they open their mouths to speak,
They may think twice before they make someone feel like a freak,
Or we may end up turning even more people to drink!
“I love you” would mean so much more,
Passion, beauty, the way that you smile,
Makes my life worthwhile,
To speak in rhyme; Ja’dore
But rhyme is not for everyone,
Some people would rather speak with a gun
