Sound Bite

Words are not enough to get to the center of the Tootsie Pop.

Really, they get in the way.

Your teeth mangle them, and your lips draggle them out,

But I don't care to lift them from the floor after you've slobbered all over them.

I tried to dry them out yesterday, but the poor things hung limp on the clothesline,

Nouns and verbs heavy, wet, and lifeless.
