Tame Life

Tame life becomes painful

I long for extravagance.

For meaningless expressions of excess,

And passionate revelry.

I’m worn down and eroded

By these monotonous doldrums,

And the growing weight of responsibility.

With both of my feet stuck in the mud.

I've been trapped in the land of lotus-eaters.

Sedated

Drunk

Constantly exhausted

And Generally scrambled.

Escaping only through literature or music,

And a single glowing vision

That somewhere in the future,

Sometime,

I’ll gaze at the sunrise

Burning hot and violent against crisp air

Over a landscape, I’ve never seen

My passion parched senses absorbing every drop

My eyes bright and full of awe,

As I taste the spit

Of a girl I just met,

And hear this world's

Stunning

Chaotic symphony

Hot against my ear

In her every strained breath.
