In a dream
Well, Hello Mr. Sandman
Scenery, people, all are illusions,
Which may seem real or more like delusions.
You may enjoy such abstract confusions,
Perhaps not if you suffer contusions.
Then, of course, there is the nasty nightmare,
With fearsome creatures of which to beware.
Some are horrific, and such is unfair,
When jolted awake with frenzied despair.
You may fly or dance upon a moonbeam,
Perhaps hunger beckons for some ice cream.
Regardless, remember that when you dream,
That little is really how it may seem.
Some reveries brief, some last ’till daybreak,
(I tend to wake with a pounding headache).
