Grins and Grace
She smiled that masquerade and drew back the curtains.
Hiding there, in grins and grace, she'd felt safe.
Until another revealed the cracks in the plaster, the broken blinds
and she felt betrayed by her own windows; eyes make terrible glass.
Thankfully, friendships that are worth their weight don't throw stones
and would rather embrace the cracks and crevices than make more.
We all need friends with magnifying glasses and hearts of headlightsÂ
to see deep into our soul's darkness; their light heals.
