Challenge
Paradoxical human.
Ocean of Paradoxes
Stranded on raft of life
sea of salt corroding,
I cup the water in my hands
cooling my ravished body.
Sun glistens on wave’s crest
mirage of aqueous vows
but parched throat screams
for liquid moisture.
Desperate to quench
my overwhelming thirst,
I gulp the aqua ravenously.
The sparkling promise of H20
dupes me into believing
that my desperate need for
tears of liquid will be met,
only to drown, helplessly,
arms of supplication pleading
to the reckless sea
that promised me salvation.
