An early September morning

The first cool breeze since May

Whispers through the Cottonwoods

A leaf flutters to the ground

And lands among a dozen others

The marigolds are dulling

Fewer crickets are chirping

Hummingbirds have flown away

The alfalfa fields are filled with bales

Summer is giving way

to beautiful Fall
