Marble Inscription
I still remember when you knocked,
three soft knocks at 3:33 AM.
Three white roses on hand.
"You're persistent," said I.
"For milady," you replied.
Though hesitant, I walked with you by the shore.
"Just this once, and come back nevermore."
"For milady, just this once and no more knocks on your door."
Swiftly has the years gone by.
The roses you gave me has withered and so am I.
The bed you have made for me
became a forlorn ground.
And finally, that early morning at 3:33,
you victoriously inscribed my name on this marble in exchange of thee.
