The struggle of sexualities
Gays/lesbians can walk down the street and someone might yell "go to hell" or something. They don't get a lot of representation on TV (but the LGBTQ community doesn't get much representation as a whole). They can get fired from their job for being gay in some states. And in some countries, being gay is punishable by death.
Something that I've heard some straight people say is "Why don't WE get a pride parade? Aren't we allowed to be proud to be who we are?" Well, buddy, having a straight pride parade is like having a white pride month. It's not a thing. Gay pride didn't evolve from being proud to be yourself; it evolved from the right to live without persecution. Anyone who wants a straight or white pride parade should be lucky they don't need one.
Bisexuals get a lot of crap because people say "Oh you're just confused" or "So if you had to pick..." If a bisexual person sleeps with a man, it doesn't mean they stop liking women. That's the whole point of bisexuality.
Transgender people these days are getting a lot of crap for many reasons. One reason being, the notorious bathroom bills. I am not transgender, but I'd rather pee next to a transgender person than a bigot. Who cares what genitals they have? Are you going to go peeping into the stall next door and say, "Don't mind me, I'm just making sure you're not hiding men's genitals in there."
Asexuality gets basically no representation in the media, on TV, or anywhere. For those of you who don't know, asexuality is where you don't experience sexual attraction. Asexuality is not a choice, and it is not the same as celibacy. Asexuals can still have sex if they want to. Asexuals can still be in a relationship with another person. Asexuals struggle with people not knowing any of these facts. When asexuals come out, people don't understand any of this.
Pansexuals are people who experience sexual attraction regardless of gender. Basically, they are "gender blind," so to speak. Pansexuals fall in love with men, women, trans men, trans women, gender fluid people, genderqueer people, and people who don't identify with a gender. A lot of people confuse pansexuality with bisexuality. Bisexuals are people who like two genders while pansexuals like all genders. Pansexuals struggle with lack of representation and people having a lack of knowledge on pansexuality.
