Lightened Eyes

Electric fairy lights

danced on darkened

eyes.

Eyes that were neither

blue or gray,

brown or green

Eyes that instead,

flickered like the tiny flames

contained in the glassy bulbs.

Between madness and excitement

Despair and longing

Looking through the night,

With rose-tinted lenses

Embroidered with the light

of a faerie
