Olympian
The day had finally come
We were headed to the games.
So I snatched up my gear
I had practiced and trained.
We rolled through the city
And took in the sights.
Couldn't wait to get in
And start the fight!
The arena was massive
Biggest I'd seen
We had dreamed to get here
Me and my team
We were runners you see
Sprinting machines
And now I had made it
To the biggest screen
I braced my foot
Ready to fire
As the crowd roared
And canons blew fire
I took of with a flash
And flew down the track
Leaving the others behind me
And never looked back
I could see the line
That marked the finish
It was right there and I knew
I really could win this
Ducking my head
I pumped my feet harder
Gritted my teeth
And stifled laughter
I could see it all now
Taking first place
Determined I was
To win this race
I'd stand up so proud
A gold medal wearer
I crossed the finish
And tripped the torch bearer.
