Sara McLachlan: Last Dance
This song is special because when my children were little, my Mother, my Granny and my sisters(2) would all load up in the station wagon and my
Truck on the 4th of July and pick a good spot to
watch the fireworks that evening.
I came from a small town suburb of
Oklahoma City.
To me it was like Mayberry R.F.D.
The fireworks were just the icing on the cake of that day, because that day always starts at 7:30 am IF you want a good spot to watch the parade in downtown that starts at 10:00am.
Then after the parade there's a big shindig over in
the city park "A FUN FESTIVAL" they call it.
They have all kinds of food and crafty booths.
When it gets too hot, (and it do get to hot!) we go home cool off take a nap, and get the cooler ready for the evenin.
We always parked a mile away as a crow flies from where they shot the fireworks.
Best seats were in the bed of my truck.
As they started to shoot the fireworks, I'd play this song because I knew this time wasn't going to last. My children were growing up, my folks were getting older, so this song helped me savor every second of those few fleeting summer moments.

So to capture that play this while watching home videos of people watching the fireworks on the 4th of July.
