i can’t remember

the last time i told anyone

anything meaningful and this

reservoir of words, as it were, has fallen

into disrepair from neglect

i, like a doctor, can talk

only in this calculated manner

in which no revelation or emotion

is matched with my own as

i diagnose, prescribe and

deliver bad news.
