love’s canker
Glacial white
creeping demise
lethal, you knew
stood silent watching
through lazy eyes
words trapped inside
a slow white death
you could stop
yet uttered no breath
Just communication
a transient anchor
that would hinder
this love’s canker
i don’t know you
who are you now?
but you waited
sure organic change
would save you
the return to
how things were -
it never came
through tears slur
words of amendment
her eyes have love
but icy, resolutely
strong, adamant
she pulled the plug
White palmed tiles
tears in water
remorseful shower
regrets and hollow
your echoed sob
now you know
you get it now
we’re becoming strangers
that subtext unsaid
