Addiction
Addiction comes in many forms
Some more dangerous than others
Mine is very unhealthy
I'm addicted to cutting
The sharp sting of knife against flesh
The mark it leaves behind
I try so hard to stop it
I know it won't end well
But the need out ways the danger
My addiction calls to me
It won't let me be
What started as just one cut
Became another and another
Over and over againĀ
Until there were too many to count
They are getting harder to hide
Maybe that's a good thing
I could really use a friend
I'm tired of all the pain
Of feeling weak
I know this can't go on longer
I know I can't do it on my own
So today I will stand and say
I need help.
