Fight On
Inside of this brown-skinned vessel is a soul attempting to break free
From this mindset of imprisonment
From the society that crushes my dream the moment that I envisioned it.
They won't let me out
They won't let me out!
I'm trapped in this nation
where my people make up most of the imprisoned population.
Please free me from this cage,
I thought I had to be imprisoned to be behind bars?
Guess not so I have to become a baller or musically refined star.
That's the only road I found to freedom. Even though my people used to rule masses of kingdoms.
Guess being taken from our lands were supposed to cause amnesia
Of our great rulers and replace it with black sprinters and goals at Fifa.
So I should stop and forget the 300 years of slavery and our entire continent
And give my money to a suited pale man with a combover in full confidence?
No, I won't stop until we have been fully freed.
No more plantations but how many of us have you seen succeed?
No more cotton picking
No more field niggas
But how many of our youth have you see die from these steel triggers?
Too many
Too much
We have to wake up and stop sipping that purple from those two cups.
No more cannabis and no more adderall
No more heroine and no more crack at all
Wake up from the dream you think you're living and learn of your history
So that you can create a bright future and not look at the past as a mystery.
Knowledge is power, so let's all switch the light on
Melanin adorned so let's all get together and fight on.
