Simple Submission-Chapter 2
The following morning Ethan walked into The Daily Grind, just as the breakfast rush was getting underway. He saw the little chit at the register, her light brown hair sticking out from under her cap giving her a frazzled appearance.
When she saw him her eyes narrowed and he was slightly taken aback. He hadn't expected that response. Despite the go to hell look, she was polite.
"Good morning sir, how may I help you?" her voice was crisp and to the point. She was not breathless like yesterday, interesting.
"Plain black coffee and a blueberry bagel, toasted." he repeated his order from the day before. "Will that be a problem..." he smirked raising an eyebrow looking at her name tag "Aubrey?"
Her eyes flashed with defiance, "No sir not at all," she turned to one of her co-workers, "one toasted blueberry bagel, please."
"Oh, have you lost your toaster privileges?" He couldn't resist goading her.
"No! I just have other things to take care of at the moment."
"That will be $6.50," she said flatly.
He handed her his credit card which she swiped abruptly then reached over and took a cup from the stack handing it, and his card back to him.
"The coffee is just over there sir, have a great day!" she said a little too brightly indicating the coffee bar he had used the day before.
This morning he had brought his laptop becaue his first meeting wasn't scheduled until about 11:00am. He decided to log in and play some counterstrike. Wi-Fi was not ideal for gaming but it made for a great way to kill a couple of hours. As long as he kept buying coffee he didn't figure it would be a problem with the establishment.
Gaming tended to be a night time activity so there were only a few people online so early in the morning. He logged in to his favorite server glad that GeekFury_02 was absent since he would have gotten his ass kicked on such a slow connection. He would get his revenge though, his office was equipped with a T1 connection and he would use it to his advantage.

With the breakfast rush over, the staff that came in from five a.m. to open until nine a.m. began to filter out. Aubrey cleaned up the workstations that her part-time co-workers vacated and began running inventory. Prince Smirky was sitting at his table ensconced in his laptop probably doing financials or something else as equally boring. She saw that he was done with his bagel and went to collect his plate.
With some surprise she saw that he was playing Counter Strike. She leaned over to take his plate but could not see who he was logged in as. She knew the screen name of every CS player in the area and was curious to put a face to a name.
"Who do you play as?" Aubrey asked, leaning close to him still looking at the screen.
He looked up at her, startled, receiving a bullet to the face for his momentary lapse in concentration. The respawn countdown began.
"Do you play?" he asked, raising his smirky eyebrow at her.
"I've been known to," she said with some pride, female gamers tended to be few and far between.
"Hmm, you are full of surprises Aubrey, I’m TexasMaster30, and you?"
Her jaw dropped and she began to laugh hysterically, the target of her ire last night and the cause of it were one in the same. Oh sweet, sweet irony.
She grinned mischievously, "I thought you were a fat old man who lived in your mom's basement. GeekFury_02, a.k.a. Aubrey Lisette pleased to meet you." She extended her hand.
He shook it bemused. "I must say that I thought the same thing about you. I find it, interesting, that you’re the one that’s been causing me all that trouble. Payback's a bitch you know."
She took his comment in stride and watched as his avatar finally respawned. He turned back to the screen, deftly dodging several attackers before the lag bogged him down and he took another head shot.
"I've never seen you at any of the local LAN parties. There is a website where you can get alerts for them."
"My weekends are always booked, Aubrey. Though I do owe you for last night, will you be playing this evening?"
"I play almost every evening, not much else to do around my place."
"You don't go to school or have a boyfriend?"
"I tried college for about a year, English major, and just wound up getting bored in class. You would think that professors would be more interesting than High School teachers. They weren’t. I just didn't have any motivation to continue, couldn't really pick a path to take."
He could understand that. He himself had dropped out of college just short of his Master's degree. Now he was a Master of another sort.
He raised a brow waiting for her to continue but she didn’t show any sign that she was going to. She had not responded to the question about a boyfriend but he decided to let it pass for now.
He respawned again and before he could get his fingers to the keyboard the screen went red.
“Goddamn Mutha!” he grumbled as he closed his lap top.
“Son of a bitch!” Aubrey grinned.
They both laughed and in unison cried. “Carmageddon!”
“So, are you up for a rematch tonight, Master?”
Ethan inhaled sharply. She had called him Master. He liked the sound of it on her lips. He knew she hadn’t meant it in the way he wanted, but it solidified his intent to have her. Soon, she would know exactly what it meant to call him Master.
“How about we go on a date instead?” To lighten the mood a bit he said, “I’ve never gone out with a woman I could talk gaming with.” He flashed what he hoped was a disarming smile.
She immediately grew nervous and uncomfortable. He could see how she began to fidget and shift from foot to foot. Her cheeks began to blaze like the sun.
“Um, no…no, I really don’t think so.”
He needed to get this under control before he lost this chance. He quickly stood and placed his hand on the side of her neck using his thumb to tilt her head up so she was looking at him.
“Come to dinner with me. You’ll be fine,” he said his voice soft but firm with a commanding undertone, but not so much as to scare her further.
He watched as her gaze returned to the floor.“Okay.” She breathed out.
“I’ll pick you up here at five o’clock.”
She simply nodded, her breathing slightly erratic, as he gathered up his lap top and stuffed it into his bag.
“I will see you soon, Aubrey.”
Again she just nodded, staring off in to space. He picked up her hand and kissed the back of her knuckles and then the finger she had burned the previous day while looking into her eyes. Then he simply walked from the building and to the parking lot. He was really confused by her reaction. Most women would jump at the chance for a date with him. He wasn’t being conceited, that’s just how things worked. So why did this little chit who seemed so full of spunk, quiver in her boots at the thought of going out with him? He had seen women shake with excitement, but not with apparent panic.
* * *
She stood in stunned silence; her mind had gone completely blank, as she stared after him.
“Aubrey! Why the hell haven’t you finished the inventory?”
She was torn so abruptly from her blank state that her head began to spin. She shook it forcefully and somehow had managed to focus enough to answer.
“Crap! Sorry I’m coming, I was just apologizing to the customer from yesterday!”
She ran to the back and tried to make some sense of the jumbles of letters and numbers on the page as her thoughts came flooding in.
“First date, Adonis, Master, smirky, warm hand, silky voice, shit! Oh my god! I am going on my first date, and it’s with Adonis incarnate. Shit I’m going on a date with…Prince Smirky! Fuck! I don’t know his name! I am going on a date with a god like creature with a voice like silk and chocolate and I don’t know his name! Master! No! Crap!”
She imagined his soothing voice as he had told her she would be fine and managed to pull herself together and complete the inventory. She wasn’t sure why that had worked but those three words soothed her. She managed to make it through the day without being jumpy or nervous, or no more so than usual, until about four forty-five.
The closer the clock hand’s moved to five o’clock the more she began to worry. What if he didn’t show up? What if he was playing a cruel joke? How could someone that looked like him want to be with someone like her? By four fifty-nine she had convinced herself that he wasn’t going to show. So when the hands moved to five p.m. she clocked out, gathered her things, and headed towards her car. She had thrown her stuff inside and was just about to climb in when she heard him.
“Aubrey!”
Her heart stopped; he was here. He was actually here.
“You came!”
“I was only one minute late. You were just going to take off?”
“I didn’t think you were going to come.”
“Silly girl, I wouldn’t have asked you on a date if I didn’t want to go out with you.”
“Oh. Well, I am not exactly dressed to go anywhere.”
“I can follow you to your house so you can get changed if you want but I think you look fine.”
Her eyes scanned over him. He was wearing dark grey slacks with a black cotton button up and grey vest with a crimson tie.
“No, no way. I am not going out with someone who looks like you when I look like this.”
She motioned to herself in her coffee stained, ill fitting uniform.
“How about you tell me where we are going and I will just meet you there?”
“My dates ride with me.” He said firmly.
“Okay then just follow me.”
“That’s what I offered to do in the first place.”
“Oh, yeah, right.” She got in and pulled out of the parking lot in her little blue hatchback. She watched in her rearview as he climbed into a charcoal gray Ferrari Spider.
“Oh fuck, he’s rich too?” She cried in disbelief.
Given his gaming, and nice clothes, she figured he was maybe a hipster who drove a smart car or something but no such luck. He was a rich, well spoken, and…fuck, she didn’t know what.
Her hands shook on the steering wheel as she drove to her apartment. He pulled in next to her when she parked. She jumped out of the car and hollered, “Wait here!”
She ran up the steps into her apartment and straight to her bedroom, not even bothering to close the door.
She stripped off her work uniform and quickly got into the shower. She quickly washed her body and hair and was about to hop out when she realized she hadn’t shaved her legs in like two weeks. She considered leaving it but knew the only dress she had that was nice enough to go out with a god would not cover her overgrown leg hair. She set to shaving as quickly as she could without tearing up her skin. She would probably have wicked razor burn later, but she would deal with it.
She got out of the shower and reached for a towel, but realized she hadn’t brought one into the bathroom. She walked out of the bathroom and into the living room heading for the clean clothes she had thrown on the couch after she had finished laundry last night.
She was reaching for the towel when her stomach fell straight through the floor. He was there, sitting on her couch, her bare breasts hanging right in front of his face. She froze, her mouth opening and closing like a fish plucked out of the ocean. The man in front of her had his eyes averted and casually spread out a towel and wrapped it around her; as though it were a normal occurrence for a butt naked woman to parade out in front of him. He handed her the edges which she gripped as though her very life depended on it. Then, like a doe sensing a wolf, she bounded out of the room and slammed her bedroom door.
Her breathing was ragged as she pushed her back against the wooden frame. Her face was so hot with embarrassment she knew she must have looked like a tomato.
Beyond the door she heard rustling then footsteps that were coming closer and closer.
“I’m sorry I came inside. I know you told me to wait, but you left your front door open and I was a bit worried about you. I didn’t look, well, I avoided looking as much as I could. Get dressed and let’s go to dinner.”
“You still want to go with me after seeing me?”
“Yes, I want you even more.” He said, barely above a whisper. “So get dressed.”
She strained to hear everything he had said but couldn’t quite make it out. She took a deep breath. “C’mon Aubrey put on your big girl panties you can do this,” she whispered to herself.
She straightened her back and took a deep breath and marched over to her dresser. She put on her beige strapless bra and matching undies. No point fretting over the kind of underwear she should wear. He had already seen everything she had to offer, so it’s not like he would want to see it again. She went to her closet and pulled out her polka dot halter top dress with the flair skirt, pairing it with red peep toe’s with a small heel and a red cinch belt. She ran a brush through her wet hair and put it into a bun. She had always liked rockabilly fashion, it played well to her curves. With a final touch of red lipstick, she was ready.
She stepped out of her room and he stood with his hand over his eyes.
“Are you decent?”
Her face flushed again. “Yeah, this time. Hope that image doesn’t give you nightmares.”
“I don’t think that’s the kind of dream that image is going to give me,” he said smoothly.
“Oh! You’re terrible! Let’s get this over with.” She said as she stormed out the door and to his car a fresh blush staining her cheeks.
He came to her side and reached for the door opening it for her. Before she climbed in he leaned and whispered into her ear, “I agree. The quicker this is over, the faster I get a goodnight kiss from those beautiful, full lips of yours.”
Her body trembled slightly as his breath caressed her neck. “Wh…who said I was going to let you kiss me?”
He grinned as he closed the door and hopped into the driver’s side. “I won’t be kissing you, you will be kissing me.”
She let out a “Pfft,” in response crossing her arms over her chest, unwittingly treating him to a nice bit of cleavage.
He smiled and turned his attention to the road and headed to the restaurant.
Simple Submission-Chapter 1-abridged
"I would like my latte sometime today please!"
The woman standing in front of Aubrey Lisette, Barista, would have been gorgeous had it not been for the sour look on her face. She was everything Aubrey wasn't. Tall, thin, blonde, well put together, not a blemish on her perfectly smooth skin, except for the deep frown line between her eyes. Aubrey was this woman's polar opposite. She was of average height and a little on the heavy side which her black slacks, purple work shirt, and apron did nothing to hide.
"Yes ma'am, I apologize for the delay!"
She had been several minutes late today and her boss was shooting daggers at her back. Jacob Furman, manager, had hired her as a favor to his girlfriend and Aubrey's cousin Cheryl, a decision he was sure to be regretting.
The line was almost out the door when she began taking orders at the counter, her coworkers pumping out foamy concoctions at a record pace.
“One grande cappuccino,” ching “two mocha frappes with peppermint,” ching, “three bran muffins and two regular coffees,” ching, on and on it went.
Finally, the line was down to one. She took a breath and after what seemed like ages she was able to look up, smiling at the next customer in line. She felt her heart stumble and her smile falter. Standing in front of her was the most sublime example of the male gender that she had ever laid eyes on.
He was blonde with wide shoulders, nearly a foot taller than her so he had to be about 6'5 or 6'6. His eyes were iciest green she had ever seen, almost a pale mint color in the center with a dark hunter green ring around the iris. His nose was slightly crooked, perhaps owing to one too many fist fights in his youth, indicating he probably had a rowdy and rebellious side. His cheeks were high and marred with slight stubble and a goatee adorned his chin.
Shaking herself out of la-la land, Aubrey forced her glazed look of amazement to retreat. She stared for another moment then shook her head and her smile returned.
"Good morning sir, how can I help you?"
He looked amused. He probably got that reaction from silly little girl's like her on a regular basis.
"Plain black coffee and a blueberry bagel, toasted."
His voice was rich and creamy to her ears, soothing her ragged nerves caused by the morning’s late start.
"Not a problem, sir. Would you like your bagel toasted?"
"I said toasted," he grumbled.
"Oh, right! I'm sorry, I missed that."
She handed him a coffee cup and pointed to the carafes on the bar against the wall. Aubrey went to the back and reached for a bagel, placing it in the toaster oven. She craned to look over the counter to see where he was sitting so she could take it out to him.
She watched, taking in all of him, as he walked over to a table. He was well dressed, black slacks with a grey silky-looking dress shirt and a maroon tie. “He would match the blondie from earlier perfectly”, thought Aubrey. She was probably exactly the type of woman this handsome man would be interested in. The sunlight was hitting his golden hair, revealing an undertone of red she hadn't seen before. It made his eyes all the more enchanting.
Aubrey was pulled out of her reverie by the smell of something burning. She yelped, realizing it was the bagel she had put in the toaster oven.
"Shit!" She exclaimed. She was so busy daydreaming about the sun soaked Adonis she had ruined his breakfast. Without thinking she reached in and grabbed the now blackened bagel from the toaster oven, singeing her hand.
"Mother F....!"
"Aubrey!"
She stopped before the rest of the phrase left her mouth, ran to the back grabbing another bagel, and was about to put it in the toaster oven when Jacob grabbed it out of her hand.
"Aubrey, you go out there, apologize to that customer and tell him it will be a few more minutes." Jacob said slowly as he put the fresh bagel into the toaster oven. Then I want you to wipe down the tables and counters in the dining room, wash the windows and display cabinets, and sweep the floors. Can you do that?"
"Yessir," she mumbled and stalked sulkily towards the man who had caused her all this trouble.
* * *
Ethan Zorne watched as the flustered young employee approached. He could see the shiny burn on her fingertips and felt a bit guilty. As she approached he could tell that she was embarrassed by the blush on her cheeks. Maybe even a little ticked off by the way she stalked over to him.
"Sir, I apologize, but it will be a few more minutes. There was a bit of a problem in the kitchen."
He simply nodded, and she turned away. He watched as she retrieved a towel from behind the bar and began to wipe down the tables and counters with a vengeance. He chuckled to himself. The little chit was being punished and she was pissed.
He watched her out of the corner of his eye as he ate his breakfast and drank the slightly bitter coffee. She had finished cleaning the tables and was moving toward the condiment area.
He needed a lid for the car ride to work and they were right in front of her. She still looked rather sullen, but he really wanted to see what kind of stuff this one was made of.
He stood up and walked towards her. He kept her in his peripheral vision but stared straight ahead at the coffee lid that was his objective. He could tell she wanted to say something to him and that she was trying to figure out what, but he just grabbed the lid and turned around, placing it on his coffee. He walked out to his car with a slight smirk playing around his lips.
As he walked in front of the shop he saw her gray eyes shooting daggers at him. He would definitely be stopping by for breakfast again tomorrow. That girl was interesting. She might make a welcome addition to his harem.
Ethan was well known among his peers for bringing vanilla women into the lifestyle and this one with her defiant eyes, he decided, would be his next challenge.
* * *
Aubrey was seething. The customer who had caused this whole mess was so imperious; nodding at her as though he was the prince of...something. She sullenly wiped down the tables with her left hand, her right was still throbbing from the burn she had sustained from that damned man’s bagel. She knew deep down that her anger at the customer was irrational. She was really angry at herself for being so besotted by that smirky, gorgeous face.
She had finished wiping the tables and began cleaning the coffee bar as Prince Smirky rose from his seat and headed towards her. She watched as he approached, thinking of what to say. Should she apologize again? Before she could think of something, he strode up and without sparing her a single glance reached over her head for a lid, then turned on his heel and walked out the door.
“Well! Good riddance,” she thought to herself glaring as he walked down the sidewalk. This was the first time she had seen him in here so he was probably just in town for business or something. It would most likely be the last time as well. The thought should have cheered her up but instead she felt more irritable.
After such an eventful morning the remainder of the day seemed to drag on. She was relegated to cleaning duty for the rest of the day, which put her into an even worse mood. She couldn’t stand cleaning!
By the time she made it home she was beyond angry, she was livid. Her cousin Cheryl was also her roommate. After listening to a half hour long tirade about how her boyfriend was a no good slave driver, she had to hide out in her bedroom.
Aubrey decided that she needed some "me" time to relax and unwind. She hopped on to her computer, cranked up some Metallica and proceeded to play Counter Strike, an old first person shooter PC game that she enjoyed.
Surprisingly, despite the games age there were still several local servers in the Dallas area, guaranteeing a low ping resulting in little to no lag. It was pretty much the usual players; a few of her friends were logged in. They all assumed she was a male and she did nothing to dissuade them of that notion. Being the only female in a multi player online game often leaves you open to lewd comments and jokes about making sandwiches. She was pretty good, having been playing the game for years now.
The game started and her arch enemy, TexasMaster30 picked that moment to log-in. She usually avoided the server he was in but she was itching for a fight this evening after the crap day she'd had. She decided he would be her primary target and she began to stalk.
Three rounds later TexasMaster30 was pissed. Every time he spawned she had killed him within a few minutes.
She was laughing more than she had all day. Though he had taken her out a few times she had gotten him many more.
He began to rant and rave in the chat box. She pictured a fat old man in his mom’s basement smacking the keyboard. The image made her laugh even harder. She logged out after a bit, now in a much better mood.
* * *
Damn that GeekFury_02! Ethan was upset that his evening gaming had been hell, thanks to that annoying little shit. That guy was sneaky. Half of the time he didn't even see where the shots had come from. Trip mines placed in all the right, or in his case, wrong places. He was ramping up to get his revenge and the asshole logged out. He typed a message and waited for a response. Nothing. That prick didn't even have the decency to respond to him. He pictured a fat old man in his mom’s basement just laughing his ass off at his expense.
Monday night was his night to game. The rest of the week was spent tending to his harem, granted it was small at the moment. With only two girls to worry about, perhaps he would get another chance to face off against GeekFury_02 later in the week. He was definitely looking forward to some much needed revenge.
Corporate Shillary
One of the most important issues in this election is Campaign Finance Reform. The reason it is so important, corporate interests have tendrils throughout our government. If politicians are receiving large sums of money from corporations and special interest, who are they beholden to? Certainly not the American people. Huge campaign donations made thanks to citizens united and the creation of Super PACs have made the corruption problem even worse. Hillary Clinton has deep ties to wall Street. She has given dozens of paid speeches for up to $275,000 each. Her response to the criticism, paraphrasing here....everyone does it. Do I need to pull out the old adage about jumping off a bridge?
Per Wikipedia, "A shill...is a person who publicly helps or gives credibility to a person or organization without disclosing that they have a close relationship with the person or organization."
Hillary Clinton refutes any discussion regarding her ties to Wall Street and refuses to release the transcripts of these speeches, her standard speaking contract, includes clauses that prohibit recording of the speech, and whoever is paying for the speech must agree to pay $1,250 to a stenographer, who will transcribe the speech for Clinton’s records. She said she will look in to getting the transcripts, but according to her own contract they are in her possession. What does she say in those speeches that she does not want to release? Would they lean along the lines of Romney's 47% of people feel they are entitled to healthcare a place to live and food comments? Who knows? She won't release them. Some insiders have come out to say that she sounded like a managing director for Goldman-Sachs and that it was a "rah rah" speech.
She sat on the board of Wal-Mart for six years. They pay some of the lowest wages in the country and are one of the biggest beneficiaries in the Welfare system, even passing out food stamp applications with job offers. Not to say she did not do some good on the board pushing for more women in management and better environmental policies, but she was largely silent on the fight with the retail workers union.
I welcome any comment and opinions on this matter, and I am always open to discussion.
“World Domination”
At 18 years old, Ted Cruz was asked about his future aspirations. His answer, World Domination.
Anyone who says, "Oh, That's just a teenager being silly," needs to realize the lengths that Ted Cruz was willing to go through, in 2013 He led the charge with his Tea Party pals to shutdown the government with no exit strategy. The GOP had egg on its face.
Not to mention the Theocracy that Ted Cruz wants to create in this country, Defunding planned parenthood. Taking away the only healthcare that millions of women have in this country. His campaign staff believe that God sent him to clean up America. He knows that evangelical Christians eat this stuff up! That is who he is pandering to. Christianity is not under attack in this country. It is still the majority religion, it would be a death sentence to most political careers to say you do not believe in the god in the bible, so why is he saying that Christianity is under attack?
The founding fathers wrote in the separation of church and state for a reason.
The Root.
Progress, someone who wants it, progressive. In the United States, the word is looked upon with disdain by nearly half of the country.
Why?
Fear.
All a progressive wants is advancement in our state of being. Others, see this as an attack on religion, or an attack on traditional "values".
Stem cell research; for cures to diseases
You're gonna harvest babies for experiments!
Climate change; and trying to take corrective action.
We need coal and oil for stuff! We would lose jobs.
Occupy Wall Street; addressing corporate greed.
If I became a millionaire you would be taking my money.
Let's figure out how to go to mars.
Waste of Money, lets go to Iraq and start a war instead!
Of course here, I am also talking about Liberal Progressiveness. I could not begin to know the mind of conservatives here in the US. They seem to constantly be working against their own interest.
The question we have to ask, is do we want our country to move forward on a healthy and happy Trajectory if so, this is what we need:
A Healthcare for all, Single payer system
A living wage for all working citizens in this country.
Free public higher education to those who qualify. (following in the footsteps of Countries like Germany)
Racial equality
Giving our elderly the ability to live with dignity.
We can do these things and still retain our national identity.
Progressive = The American Dream.
Political Revolution!
First and Foremost, I must reference the title of this article. A vote for Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is a promise, a pact, a commitment to a movement we are calling a Political Revolution. Bernie starts most of his speeches with this:
“Let me tell you something that no other candidate for president will tell you. And that is, no matter who is elected to be president, that person will not be able to address the enormous problems facing the working families of our country. They will not be able to succeed because the power of corporate America, the power of Wall Street, the power of campaign donors is so great that no president alone can stand up to them. That is the truth. People may be uncomfortable about hearing it, but that is the reality.”
The key part of that statement is "...no president alone can stand up to them." We, as a nation have to rise up and tell those in office that they work for us, not for corporations. The reversal of The Glass-Steagall Act and the passing of Citizens United has been extremely detrimental to our country's democracy. Giving the power to the extremely wealthy by allowing shady dealings in Washington D.C.
Our campaign finance system in this country is now corrupt. Purchased by millionaires and billionaires, like the Koch brothers. Bernie Sanders is the only candidate without a super PAC. He has a detailed tax plan laid out that would increase taxes only 2.2% for 98.5% of the American people, except for the 1.5% of Americans that make more than $250,000 a year. This small increase will pay for healthcare for all citizens in this county. A tax on wall street speculation would allow as to make public colleges and universities tuition free. The American people have been complacent and complicit for too long in the face of corporate greed. The United States of America is the richest country in the world. A fact that the average American is unaware of thanks to a massive redistribution of wealth in favor of the top one-tenth of one percent of people in this great nation.
Many on the "right" like to cite Welfare as a problem in this country. However, the largest recipients of Welfare in this country are big banks and multinational corporations. After the crash of 2008, the big banks needed to be bailed out to the tune of $4.6 trillion dollars having been paid out. With our help, Bernie Sanders will break up these banks that are "too big to fail."
A related issue concerns the working poor. The Federal minimum wage is $7.25, a starvation wage which Wal-Mart pays most of it's employees, in some cases new hires even receive state welfare paperwork with their employee packets. Should someone who works 40 hours a week struggle to feed their family? Right now, in this country you can have two parents working 40+ hours per week barely getting by, one emergency away from financial ruin. This affects White, Latino, and Black people across this nation though, undoubtedly the minorities are more hard hit.
Bernie has been on the front line of Human and Civil rights activities. He marched with Martin Luther King, Jr. and staged a sit-in to protest segregated housing at the University of Chicago. He was arrested during this protest. At the same time Hillary was working for the Goldwater campaign, which was pro-segregation. While the Clinton's were promoting DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act) in 1996, Sen. Bernie Sanders was one of the few legislators that opposed DOMA and voted "no" to discrimination against our LGBT brothers and sisters.
Bernie has a knack for seeing the big picture, the effects that passing or not passing a bill might have. He uncannily predicted the outcome of the Iraq war and the destabilization that followed and, rightly, voted "no" to the War in Iraq when it was an extremely unpopular view. He knows that war is a last resort, not the first option.
In most cases if you are going to be of voting age before the November Presidential election, you can participate in your states Primary (look up specific rules for your state). I beg you to become involved politically, don't be apathetic to what is going on in our nation. Research any candidate that interests you and get involved in your own Political Revolution.
