ENDGAME

If you could travel through time,

would you like to see us in our platinum prime?

In each others arms,

dancing with stars.

Our soul shedding the ash of obstacles we faced.

I read you a poem I just wrote.

You listen to them by looking in my eyes.

Your lips tell me the words I need to change.

I focus on your smile,

then into eyes,

I faze.

We went beyond the world.

We went beyond love.

Just to find out that,

we were not beyond flaws.

Only us can define us.

Before the comet pass,

and we turn to dust.

I'll gladly hold your hands

and say these words,

"Everytime I look into your eyes,

all I see is the gates to paradise."

VERDICT

She's guilty...

My heart will never remain the same.

He as waited for this hour for so long.

Rather than pretend that his feelings are not real,

he's willing to expire on the train of trying.

The beauty from within is not the same as the beauty from her skin.

We get carried away from the one we percieve that's real.

They're both real

One surpasses the other.

It all depends on what we desire.

What I desire, is the beauty within.

Which I percieved as the movie dealt the scenes.

She's real, the beauty from within.

I don't know how to reach her.

But in the tales of my lines,

I hope she finds her.

Mr. Jones

I cannot bear this another day. This woman is not guilty. I am the one who murdered Mr. Jones, and I will gladly put on my disguise to prove it.

Not Meant to Be

Together

That's what we were

You made me feel light as a feather

But now it's all a blur

Everytime I'd ask if you would raise your hand again

You'd always say never

But you'd always throw me back into your playpen

I guess we weren't meant to be Forever

Best Friend’s Forever... Right?

Together we laughed

Together we cried

We grew up in a world of pinky promises

And happy dreams

You were my best friend forever

Nothing was boring with you by my side

Endless games and movies

Secret sharing under the stars

A childhood of ups and downs

The only constant being you

You were my best friend forever

Fights broke out frequently

But always ended with us dying of laughter on the floor

I could never stay mad at you

Driver's licenses and first kisses

Sleepovers that always included makeovers

You were my best friend forever

Tears shared late at night

As I told you about my depression

You said you would always be with me

You would stay until the day I died

But childish promises never could last

Isn't that right my best friend forever?

We couldn't bridge the gap between us

Something told me you didn't want to

Soon laughing turned to anger

And that never ended well

Saying things we would regret but never take back

I can hardly recognize my best friend forever

It was never the same

Soon we drifted apart

I still remember those nights fondly

Now all that is left is broken dreams and stolen secrets

No longer best friend's forever

Challenge
Twist Ending in 50 words or less.
In such a short amount of words it is hard to tell any story. See if you can write a story that sets expectations and subverts them in the word limit. Change the genre from horror to funny or the opposite. Or trick the reader into believing there is something there is not and reveal it in the last line. Surprise us. Here is an example of a short story by Hemingway: For sale: baby shoes, never worn.

White Dress

The birds sang sweetly and pink flowers bloomed in the trees. She readied her white dress and pinned up her curls. At the sound of three knocks, she answered her door.

“I’m so glad we’re here for my special day,”

“Nothing is more important than being our first ritual sacrifice.”

I love my life with Cal. We have a beautiful home, stable incomes, and a puppy that keeps us busy. We spend nights after work grabbing beers with friends and yelling ourselves hoarse at pub trivia.

Too bad I have to go home to my husband on the weekends.

Little Monster

I woke up to heavy breathing next to me in bed.

I live alone.

Before I can turn around, claws grab at my sides.

I look back to see large, bright yellow eyes.

The creature hisses, loud enough to wake the entire neighborhood.

My cat's an asshole sometimes.

Here it is

You deleted me

The person I was and used to be

Now I look back

There's no evidence to support

Claim or deny

That anything everever existed

BUT in my mind

It begs the question what

What proves that you and I ever existed

It doesn't matter

Because you are deleted too

And I've moved on to

A better light than could have ever been you
