One More Kiss
Kissed your lips and whispered to your soul,
hearing weeping of the wind in melancholy moans.
Tortured by your absence, I taste fear of frosty lips,
numbness overcoming as I kiss your chilled memory,
inhaling and exhaling intimacy of what we had.
A final caressing breeze on nape of my neck, rests
between my sighs, stillness sleeps in deep slumber.
Remnants of flickering shadows expose lingering heart,
romance and passion carved lovingly into marble slab,
face of stone crumbling into blackness of tilled soil.
I close my eyes and kiss you a perfumed goodbye
walking with glassy stare on path of forlorn roses,
sunshine washed away by salted tears of closure
as I yearn for one more kiss until I share your realm.
Afterall
We may speak
But no words are involved
We may feel a bond
But do nothing at all
The cold breeze
Dry smoke
Big trees
All of us are broke
But pieces become parts
Together we are a whole
Nothing can tear us apart
Vibrant souls
Never ending love
Is always bestowed
In our safe place
Society can't see our face
We feel a connection
We are united
But nothing's exchanged
And we sit divided
It's that feeling in the air
That makes you know
They do care
You’re worth trying for.
Before I met you,
I was ready to settle down with my ex and buy a house.
I was prepared to live in the city I was born in for the rest of my life.
Life got in the way,
As it does.
Fortunately,
I met you.
You made the world my playground,
dusted the dirt off my knees when I fell,
and got me back on my feet with a soft smile and a bad joke.
Now here we are,
Unsure of what we're doing,
When only a month ago we were inseparable.
Distance has a funny way of separating heart and mind.
You say you want me,
and only me,
and in the same breath,
you don't want me at all.
I'd climb mountains for you,
stand at the tallest peaks,
and free fall into darkness,
If I knew you'd be waiting at the bottom for me.
I've always been scared of heights,
but with you by my side,
I have no fear.
I’m No Screwup
As summer comes to an end
Autumn draws nearer and nearer
I wake up today with breath in my body
My heart beats it's beat in my chest,
And I lift my head towards the open blue sky
I cry out to God praising His name
Thanking Him for allowing me live another day
But I bow my head low
Knowing that I've screwed up and I'm filled with many flaws
He looked down and said to me 'My child, your sins have been forgiven
Take this hand of mine and I shall lift you above this abyss
Of despair and hopelessness.
I'll never forsake you or leave your side.
So have hope and don't fall into despair.'
As the days go by
From summer to fall
Fall to winter
Where the days grow colder and longer
And the earth is covered in white
I'll wake up each day
With breath in my body
And a beating heart
I've screwed up too many times to count
But I am not a failure or a mistake
I am a child of God and He calls me His own.
Love
When you fall in love with a writer,
You become the very words of her work.
When you fall in love with a writer,
She paints your world with the magic of her ink.
When you fall in love with a writer,
She holds you dear to her heart,
So her pen won't bleed pain.
When you fall in love with a writer,
She'll drown you slowly,
In the waters of her own depth.
You just have to fall in love with a writer,
To know what love can bring you.
