Are you ready?
I'm a comin' for you,
What's left to do?
Are you ready?
Who will finish what you started,
After you have departed?
Are you ready?
Never quite had it made?
Too soon this price is paid.
Are you ready?
Did you give enough yet?
Is your legacy set?
Are you ready?
Milestones never reached?
Your dreams are all beached.
Are you ready?
Those places you've never been?
Many sights never seen.
Are you ready?
Did you say goodbye?
Sing a lullaby?
Are you ready?
Keep that bedtime kiss
For the one you'll miss?
Are you ready?
Ready or not,
Time's up!
A HOLE
I dug a hole in the ground for you today
User, taker, false promiser
No matter how many trophies I laid at your feet
No matter how much I bent over backwards
It was never enough
I was never enough
You professed what you did not feel
talked love yet had no inkling
That
it wasn’t only about you
Or what you could get.
Its about what light your candle brings to another’s life
At the end you burnt and hollowed me out
Yet I was unable to let go
You showed me
that
Empty people make things empty
I covered a hole in the ground today
I can walk away now.
There is strength in my legs to carry me.
one step at a time
I don’t need to run
Anger is no longer my crutch
Pain has stopped being my shield
I still have the self doubt
“Why do you carry that? People ask
I reply with a sad smile
Because they do not understand
People with baggage make baggage
I saw a leaf sprout in the ground today
Tender and delicate
Somehow the clouds have parted
The sun is shining again
I have met someone else
He is all colors of the rainbow
Bright and robust
The circle is complete
I have dropped the self doubt
I feel refreshed
My swagger is back now
It took me close to a lifetime but I figured it out
Broken people make broken things
Whole people make things whole
RIP Grandma
These words come a bit late
They are out of date
Bland with no taste
I know I’m late
Please forgive me
My heart is heavy
Your loss weighs heavy on me
I’m sad and in pain
Because you left us.
With just one silent hush you were gone
These words come a bit late
But I would like to say that on this sad day I choose to celebrate your life
I celebrate your life
You are gone from this earth but forever you remain in our hearts
Your voice still lingers in our ears
You had a clean heart
You are the true definition of selflessness
You always taught us to be teachable and obedient according to the word of God
I celebrate your life
Without you my cousins and I wouldn’t be here
Goodbye grandma
The struggles of this world hurt you no more
For I know you are in a better place with God.
We will forever cherish the sweet memories, the joy, the laughter and positive energy you brought with you.
