the crisp air pierces

as thoughts

untangle and stir

a subtle ache

penetrates

the dagger

is still

and finally in place

the art of letting go

has unclenched

Beats have experienced

Excitement of new ports

And have beaten

New fibers within

The muscle that fills life

Will change the

Ears of a sailor

Sounds have whispered

And resonated with

Foreign feelings

Will change the

Sailor who still travels

Back home -

Sometimes

She crept out of her house

late

fell asleep in the shrubbery

surrounding the garden shed

body shivering

under thin flannel

her heart raced

at the thought of leaving

the clock struck midnight

and there she stayed
