PART 6
“Something fishy is definitely going on with your death.” I said, pacing back in forth in the dorm. I stopped, no commentary from him. “Kyle!”
He emerged from the shadowed corner just as he had the first day we met.
“Hey? Are you okay?” I walked over to him.
His sunken face answered my question for me. I had completely disregarded his feelings up until now.
“Well other then the fact my family has no idea I’m dead, I’m trapped in my girlfriend’s/ex-girlfriend’s roo-”
“Ex-girlfriend?” I asked.
“Yeah, didn’t I tell you? Before I died, which I still have no idea how that went down, we got into a big fight. She ended up slapping me and storming off.”
“What was her name again?” I asked open my laptop’s search browser.
“Krissy Frances Jones. Maggie, what are you getting at? You said that she didn’t have anything to do with my death.”
“No, I said let’s not jump to conclusion, then you gave her motive.”
“I can’t deal with this right now.” Kyle vanished.

PART 5
“excuse me, sir!” I flagged down one of the colleges security guards.
“Yes?”
“Have you seen this boy? Or have any information on his last known location” I held up a picture of Kyle I had printed off the internet earlier that day. I knew he wasn’t going to know anything about him, but I promised Kyle.
The security guards eyes went wide for a moment
“No, sorry, can’t say I have.” He cleared his throat. “College students go missing all the time, he’ll turn up in a few days.”
“No, sir you don’t underst-”
“Don’t worry about your boyfriend, miss. I have to go now, bye.” And with that he left.
That was weird. Oh what the hell, let’s try it.
“Sir! One last thing!” I chased after him. “I have reason to believe that this boy has been murdered, any comments?”
No responds.
“A young girl like you shouldn’t be getting involved with this. Trust me, if you value your life… leave it alone. The dead are gone, forever.”
Only if that was true.

PART 4
Finding the library wasn’t as nearly as hard as finding my dorm was, hopefully there won’t be any Caspers the friendly ghosts in here too.
“Kyle….” I paused, fingers hovering over the computers keys. “Shit.” I mumbled under my breath, I had forgotten to ask him his last name. I rolled my eyes at myself, index finger pressing down the backspace. “List of deceased students at XXXX College.” I clicked on the first search result. My eyes scrolled down the list of names, none of which were Kyle. “List of missing students at XXXX College.”
“What did you find out?” Kyle asked, appearing the second I walked into the room.
“Nothing really…” the door clicked shut behind me “They have you down as missing, Kyle. They don’t even know you’re dead.”
His eyes were glazed over, he cleared his throat. “So my family…”
“I’m sorry.” I interrupted him. “I’ll go around asking some staff about you tomorrow, its late now.”
I wanted to hug him but the dead can’t touch the living.

PART 3
"Krissy!" Shouted Kyle while I was unpacking, causing me to drop my basket of freshly washed clothes.
"My god, Kyle, you scared the hell out of me." I said, one hand placed over my heart, the other out in front of me.
"Maggie, you won’t believe this! I remembered - Krissy, my girlfriend, she lived in this dorm" He looked at me, eyes full of hope.
"Okay," I said nodding "maybe, when you died your spirit wanted to remain by Krissy's side. No scratch that, if that was the case you would be with Krissy not stuck here. um..." I paused thinking.
"Could I have just died in this dorm?" He asked.
"No, well possibly, but that can't be the reason you're trapped here. It has to be more traumatic in order to bound you to this room."
"Do you think that Krissy might have... you know, had a hand in my death?" There was a mixture of fear and sadness in his eyes.
"Let's not jump to conclusions, after I finish unpacking I'll go dig up some information about your death. okay?"
"alright"

PART 2
I took in a deep breath of air “I can do this, I can have a normal life with a male ghost roommate.” I thought to myself
“Yes I can sense you, it’s a genetic thing.” I waved my hand around in the air. “My family are kinda like ghost hunters, I guess you could say.”
“Oh…” The boy paused. “Sorry, it’s just been so long since I’ve actually had a conversation with someone, um I’m Kyle”
“I’m Maggie, look Kyle, I don’t mean this in any disrespect but I have come a long way to get away from all the ghost shit so do you think you could find another girls dorm to haunt.”
“I would if I could but I’m stuck in this room” Kyle admitted sullenly.
I let out a heavy sigh collapsing into the bean bag chair “So you’re bound to this room. Great.” I mumbled sarcastically. “If we can find out why you’re bound to this room then we can brake you out, and I can have a normal college life and you can go haunt the girls’ locker room or something.”
“Truth is I don’t even remember dying, let alone why I’m stuck here.”
I let out a loud frustrated noise, this was going to be a long four years.

PART 3
"Hello there, pretty" said the man who gripped her arm tight enough to break a bone. "Now don't you worry, we aint gonna hurt you. This here's my youngest Jordon" he smiled gesturing to the small boy. "And I'm Steve."
Natalie felt a sharp pain in her lower back and cried out, she knew what was coming.. Her tail felt as if it was on fire and her vision clouded.
There was a warm moist texture that gently woke Natalie up. Another boy, much other than the last, dabbed a rag onto her forehead as her eyes fluttered open. Her throat was dry and her body weighed a thousand pounds.
“Are you feeling any better” asked the man
“Define better.” Natalie replied sarcastically.
The man chuckled, removing the rag and soaking it in a pot of water.
“I’m Jay, the guy who managed to convince Steve not to throw you back into the ocean once your tail vanished.”
Natalie paused, she didn’t know how to respond to that, “Thank you, I guess.”
“So I’ll give you the gist of how life works in this house. The youngest is Jordon he’s six, then there’s Macy she’s 8. I’m Jay the oldest, 19, our father is Steve… or as I like to refer to him as, the prison warden. How old are you?”
“204 moons old?”

PART 1
I was never one to believe in fate or god, but he was.
It all started on my first day of college (cliché I know, but bare with me), I was getting my degree in engineering. My family wasn't exactly thrilled that I didn't want to carry on the "Munro" legacy, but in the end they left the decision up to me.
So there I was a 19 year old college freshmen, searching desperately for her dorm room. By this point I had already asked at least six people for directions. I was about to give up and live on the old leather couch I had passed so many times... when I saw it, Room 133. I had walked right passed it! I felt so oblivious, who knows how many times I've been up and down these stars, searching left and right, when it was right in front of the god damn leather couch.
I sighed "Okay, Maggie, you made it. Just open the door and we can get on with our normal, average, boring lives." I told myself.
Of course my life turned out to be anything but normal.
I opened the creaky door, peering my head first. It was dark, illuminated by only the afternoon sun, dust floated around in the warm rays of light. Silence, overwhelming silence. The second I heard the door click behind I wanted to cry. I was furious, actual steam was coming out of my ears.
"What the hell are you doing here?" I shouted into the empty room. "Don't pretend, I can sense you, might as well make yourself visible. God fucking damnit! I came here to get away from this shit!" I kicked my bag across the room. "Well! Come on out!"
There emerged out of the shadowed corner of my dorm, a blonde curly hair boy, eyes wide, he whispered "You can sense me?"

PART 2
If they see you, you'll never be able to come back to mommy and daddy." her parents would tell her.
She wondered what they would have said now.
"Daddy! Daddy! Come here quick! We caught a real mermaid princess!" said the little boy who'd first seen her.
Natalie sat, trembling near the boats edge, her whole life she'd been taught to fear humans, all the morbid things they'd do to her if they ever got the chance.
"Hello there, pretty" said the man who gripped her arm tight enough to break a bone. "Now don't you worry, we aint gonna hurt you. This here's my youngest Jordon" he smiled gesturing to the small boy. "And I'm Steve."

PART 1
Natalie knew she's not suppose to be here, she could practically hear her mother and father yelling at her now. But she had to be here, close to the surface of the water, feeling the suns warmth on her skin. Besides this place is illegal fishing grounds, no one is ever around anyways. That's when she felt it, a sudden swoop from underneath her, the water rushing out from the holes within the net, the sounds of cars and seagulls. All these sensations struck her at once, causing her to freeze.
"No, they can't see me." Her heart pounded in her ears, Natalie, quickly thinking, began to frantically claw at the net, but it was to late.
Her eyes met with the younger boy on the boat, his mouth hanging wide open, arm stretch out, pointing directly at her. She slumped over in the net with the flailing fish, arms crossed over her chest.
"Well this is just fucking fantastic." She thought to herself.
