Where did I come from?
I came from that steel city
that 446 bridges city
that 30 sky scrapers city
That famous Point State Park city
I came from that little neighborhood
The daily rides on the little red incline
the daily slides on the big blue slide
the daily visits to have matzo ball soup
I came from that perfect house
with the red and white room
with the scary laundry shoot
with the little sister sleeping
I grew from that two-year-old girl
who loved reading upside down orthopedic books
who loved tutus
who loved sesame street
To that girl who loved reading right side up books
who loved Steelers games
who loved art
who loved her sweet sister
who loved her tomboy self
I came from Mr. Roger’s neighborhood
From Squirrel Hill
From Pittsburgh
From Pensilvania.
Who am I?
I am Sam
Yes I am
Green eggs and ham
I know this will give you a laugh
and you won't pick this funny path
to win
but as I am only here
not for mere win
but for making for glee
in this uncheery
flee!
weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
I hope everyone has a terrific day and summer! Stay safe and healthy! Be kind!
Eternity after Lifespan?
First comes life
A new leaf
a fresh start
turning and twisting
gyrating and swirling
swishing and spinning
as the only thing you can cling onto is hope
problems swelling
like a pink bubble gum
smaller
then bigger
then they Pop!
Then something happens when the world comes to an end
a new lifetime
yet for enternity
another leaf
with no end
with no start
having a life but no heart
they could be souls
spirits
or gouls
or new people
or angles
but all that we have desided is...
interity is after the life of the earthlings
either a circle of lives
or a new way
yet it continues
on.....
and on.........
and on.................
A small dose of nothingness
black
empty
despairing
controlling
uncontrolling
zilch
zero
nada
none
open
swallowing
here
is the
poeming
Nothingness
Just a small dose
It's cool and fresh on your lips
and I have that feeling of dansing in the moonlight etched onto the grass
Nothingness
The pleaser to your pleasures
the dew drops withing raindrops
the sharp smell of pine needles
and baked cookies
Nothingness
A black whole
of somethingness
of pride
She’s not coming back
Gone
dispare
hopeless
meaningless
my life is just meaningless
she is not coming back
no use of going on
I might as well stop trying...
and walk off a cliff
I want one thing
to see her
to let her hold me
to let her say, I love you
to have her tuck me in bed for just one more night
she is gone and not coming back
Writing tips
Hi everyone! So some of you know that I had made a challenge of writing tips. I am thrilled to say that I found a ton of brilliant advice. So now I am going to share the things I have learned from those dozen of people, and things I have picked up! Enjoy!
1) Write down everything and anything about your plot and characters
2) Have a specific day/time when you write! This really helps.
3) When stuck on a scene, put in who what where when why
4) Proofread each page you finish, that way you don't have a mound of editing waiting for you to put off
5) Read other authors (other than your favorites) to spark ideas
6) Rewrite!
7) Ask prose!
8) Try to write down other ideas
9) Or Combine them!
10) Write character backstories
11) I plan out little scenes, then connect the dots
12) Listen to music at the mood of your scene
13) Make a cup of tea/coffee
14) Write in a notebook first, then transfer it into a writing software
15) Set a word minimum
16) Set a goal and don't break it for a certain amount of days
17) Where UVEX glasses
18) Write somewhere from 5-10 pages a day
19) I didn't realize this but 5 pages a day, you end up writing 150 pages in a month! Now thats some progress! If you can keep that up you could write a 300 paged novel in 2 MONTHS! but that is hard to keep up!
20) Find a new cool writing softwere! It will keep you interested and writing!
Hope this is helpful!!!
Stagefright
You know that feeling....
A lump in your throught
panic in your eyes
cheeks red
words quietly spoken or danced or sang
and then...
A brilliant rose thrown to where you are standing
the peddles perfect
one slightly crumbled
those words come more clearly
the leap more graceful
that song more heart touching
those words full of confidence
pride
You know who you are
You can feel it
You know every step of the way
You did perfectly
Thanksgiving horror story
That turkey, she could taste it in her mouth even before she had put it on her plate. The dining room smelled scrumptious with the aroma of Thanksgiving dinner. The whole table was filled with dishes of stuffing, cranberry sauce, green beans, and mash potatoes. But this story isn’t about a perfect thanksgiving. No oh no that is much too boring this is a story of murder despair and agony. It all started with that dinner the plate was filled and suddenly her mom got up.
“I saw something... outside,” She said quietly. They stared out the window. There were rumors going around that strange people were roaming the streets and several house alarms had gone off and people had gone missing. But with warm and full bellies on Thanksgiving, no one felt afraid.
“It’s nothing,” Her uncle reassured and they continued. After the mouth-watering dinner, they decided to go outside to walk.
“We have glow bands!” An aunt shouted, and soon everyone had glowing rings and were bundling up to go outside. She stood in the doorway, her cousin outside talking with her. It was so dark that she could only see her cousin’s light. Then suddenly she felt a strong wind, her eyes watered and looked down. When she looked back up she saw her cousin’s light but suddenly it just...went out, disappeared. Then a minute later she heard a faint scream.
“Mom! Mom!!” She called. Her mother, Jen, came running out.
“What? Where’s Kate?” She asked
“She...She just disappeared I just heard a scream, I think they took her!”
“Something’s out there I know it. Come inside we are going to hide.” She turned taking her mother’s hand and walked inside. Soon all the cousins Aunts and Uncles were inside and in the basement with anxious faces. Some people were asleep, but others were awake and attentive, then they heard heavy footsteps, uneven limping.
“Jen? ’You in there?” Said an unfamiliar voice.
“Yes, they all are, “She responded in a strange tone. Suddenly the basement door opened. and she saw a dozen men dressed in black. People screamed then screamed louder. They entered the basement.
“What are you going to do with us?” A cousin screamed. The room quieted.
“Why that is simple! You see our master,” he spoke the last word shakily with fear, “Well, he eats bones or as he prefers, flesh spoils too quickly. So we must use some people to feed him. And your mother here, She has kindly helped us over the past few months. Now everyone line up now! No doubt you will die after this, but let’s hope you die quickly, most don’t though. All right! We will let you choose. Your spine or your femur. Which one?” She tried to crawl away. There was a closet just 3 feet away. She slipped in and slowly closed the door. Suddenly there was a scream, blood-splattered, and a spine on the floor. Then the closet door opened.
“Hello, little girl! You trying to hide? Don’t worry you can go next.” And her life flashed before her.
