The Writer's "Skills"
What are five of your "skills" as a writer? Meaning...technically, they are not helpful, but they make you (the writer), you...a writer. (I'll give an example, since I'll also be entering this challenge)

March...What to write about...?
How about madness? March Madness?
Yes...March Madness. Be creative; just give me some madness to carry me throughout the rest of March.

Love Is In The Air & A Love Poem's On The Screen
Not a lot to say for this. Just write a love poem. Make me feel the emotion and the love, throughout. Be creative, too! (I love it when people play around with the layout of the words, or well, just play around with words. Make them come alive!)

What happens on New Year's morning, when an old man decides to show his neighbourhood what he thinks of their frolicking around till later after midnight?
I'm putting this challenge under the Comedy Category. So, I'd prefer pieces of comedy, thank you. The idea is to make somebody smile/laugh, specifically me, seeing as I'll be picking the winner.
Comedy Tonight
Easy, peasy (Yeah...Not for me). Write a comedy. Set the story at night (it would be cool if you could write it at night as well, but it's not like I'll ever know if you did write it when the darkness was swaddling the sky outside). I'll even set a rule for myself: I will only read it at night. Gives it the right feel, I think. Okay, and the last rule: Tag Me.
You have three time periods to pick from: the French Revolution, the Bolshevik Revolution, or the American Revolution.
Your work doesn't have to be historically accurate, but I'd rather you try and keep it as accurate as possible.
You have to take your character and place him/her in your chosen time period.
Then, you have to pick an event that happened in this time period, and you have to place your character in the middle of the action (not necessarily in the line of fire; just have the story start when the event has already been in action for a while...like the battle has been going on for two hours already, and now the story finally starts).
Against this backdrop, tell me the story of your character's experiences and actions.
Just be creative and dazzle me! (NOTICE: Extra points for the one that can introduce me to an event that really happened in that time period, but that I wasn't aware of. .^-^.)

The trees are swinging from side to side, thunder is cracking, and lightning illuminates the sky. The two kids quickly duck into an old shed...
Start your piece with this prompt. Then, write about what happens next.
You can choose to write in one of five genres: Suspense/Thriller, Mystery, Horror, Fantasy, or Comedy (I would love to see somebody writing a good comedy based off of this prompt!)
