It’s Not Okay
You say, “it’s okay,”
But clearly, you don’t understand
What that phrase means
“It’s okay,” words meant to reassure,
To erase heavy burdens,
To ease the deepest of sorrows
Words that are pure and meaningful
When you say, “it’s okay,”
They become an excuse,
A justification for your mistakes,
A cover-up for all
The negative deeds you do
From your mouth, “it’s okay,”
Becomes an empty comfort,
A hollow reassurance
You rob those words of all meaning
You always say, “it’s okay”
But, it’s not always true
