melting
Haven't talked in weeks,
and that's fine.
I've accepted it,
and I'm so over you.
I'm so over how you laugh at my jokes,
take my hand in the parking lot.
I'm so over you helping me get a strike
when bowling with friends.
The first date,
magical, and lovely.
For me.
Obviously you had a different idea.
I'm so over your well thought out texts
about the most trivial things.
Like when you explained
why rain we should dance in the rain together.
I'm so over that shy smile.
I'm so over your kind eyes.
I'm so over missing you...
please come back.
me
You say you love the sun,
the rain,
and you even say you love the fire.
but what happens when there's too much sun,
the rain turns into a storm?
What happens when the fire becomes uncontrollable?
You don't love them anymore.
You find shade,
use an umbrella,
and extinguish the fire.
What if I grow,
find new passions,
and even begin to feel emotions again?
Will you still love me?
Will you bear the heat from the sun?
Will you dance in a thunderstorm?
Will you burn in the fire?
Will you still love the new me?
humanity 2020
America
Land of the free
Is it really though?
Have you seen the TV?
Children at 7 yeasr old
Having suicidal thoughts.
Are people really that mean?
Have you watched the news?
Active shooters on campus
In college, high school, and elementary.
When did shooting others become a game?
Have you watched the TV?
Terrorists on naval bases,
In the United States.
When did we become afraid in our own country?
Have you seen the news?
People begging on the streets
While others forget humanity.
When did this become reality?
How you seen the TV?
Is this really America,
Land of the Free?
screaming
Screaming loud enough,
yet no one can hear.
They aren't listening
for cries of a child in the stairwell.
They only listen to what they want to hear.
She's screaming, but it's elevator music.
No one notices,
no ones takes a second look
at the little girl under the stairs.
Screaming loudly, but not loud enough.
the moon
There is nothing scary about the moon you say?
Tidal waves wipe away cities,
Tsunamis too.
What are they controlled by?
The Moon.
The moon is not innocent,
It is the only one that sees the sneaking cheaters,
The loud liquor-filled nights,
The girl drinking a drugged drink,
And the nightmares of a child.
The moon does not
Take responsibility.
I wouldn’t either,
But humans cannot be the bad guys here.
People are too desensitized.
“Humankind is just curious” they say,
Save it, I don’t want to hear your excuses.
I want truth.
Curiosity killed that cat,
But why not explore?
For the good of the universe,
Humans should stay on Earth.
So,
Is it the moon,
Or is it the humans
Who cause real pain?
light in the dark
Her smiles were like arrows through the darkness.
She shoots blind,
and often misses her mark.
Frustration grows with every kind smile,
yet every once in a while, she will hit someone.
They have been infected with kindness.
The most unsuspecting people,
finally nice to others.
Her work here is done,
and now she can go home.
Sun
The warmth of the sun
Lost within the fold of the sky.
Smoke and fog
Covering the last rays of hope.
The last few days
Spent in a humorless dark.
From within, the clammy heartstrings pull
Until the last breathe escapes
The icy blue lips
Of the young girl.
Mourning over her, a boy
He thought they could be together forever
Until the mist took her away
Too soon.
